Habitat Greater Sacramento named “Affiliate of Distinction” by Habitat for Humanity International

An On Thursday, March 26th Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento was honored to be awarded the prestigious “Affiliate of Distinction Award” by Habitat for Humanity International at the National Habitat Conference in Atlanta, Georgia.

.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento was one of 14 affiliates (out of 1,500 in the United States) to be recognized as an “Affiliate of Distinction” by Habitat for Humanity International for its achievements and innovation in serving the Greater Sacramento community.

This is the second year the affiliate has been selected for this award.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento was specifically recognized for its recent milestones of hitting $1,000,000 in tithe overseas from unrestricted donations, the impressive Indian Lane development in South Sacramento which has received LEED-Platinum certification on all of its completed homes, and for the recent merger with Habitat Yolo County to serve more families in need in the community.

  • Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity (Wisconsin)
  • Our Town of North Mecklenburg-Iredell County (North Carolina)
  • Portland/East Metro Habitat for Humanity (Oregon)
  • Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento (California)

Habitat affiliates considered for the honor were reviewed by seven criteria: sustainable and green building; overall organizational leadership; community development; financial sustainability; alignment with Habitat for Humanity’s strategic plan; effective use of technology to better communication with the public; and support for Habitat’s global mission.
