DESCRIPTION:Rock the Block is an inspiring two-day Habitat for Humanity impact event that brings together hundreds of volunteers\, sponsors\, and local residents to make a lasting difference. During these two days\, we work side-by-side to complete critical home repairs\, landscape beautifications\, and community revitalization projects that improve the quality of life in Bryte Broderick. \nAs part of Habitat’s Home Preservation and Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative\, Rock the Block serves as a vital investment in historically underserved and marginalized communities. We focus on supporting veteran\, senior\, disabled\, and BIPOC homeowners—especially those in need of help to preserve their homes and prevent displacement. \nOur goal is to ensure stability for residents in affordable\, owner-occupied homes by addressing deferred maintenance\, essential repairs\, energy efficiency upgrades\, and improvements for health\, safety\, and cost savings. These efforts directly reduce the risk of displacement for long-time residents of neighborhoods like Bryte Broderick. \nIn addition to home repairs\, we work closely with local nonprofit organizations that serve the community year-round\, creating sustainable partnerships that extend beyond this event. \nBy leveraging financial support and thousands of volunteer hours\, Habitat for Humanity transforms these contributions into meaningful community investments across Sacramento and Yolo Counties.
