Elk Grove Home Repair Program

About the Elk Grove Home Repair Program:

The Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento Elk Grove Home Repair Program is designed to provide assistance to eligible Elk Grove homeowners to finance and complete health and safety-related repairs to their homes. The Program provides this assistance in the form of an interest-free loan, a portion may be forgiven. The Program is funded by the City of Elk Grove and the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).

The goals of the Program are to:

A. Reduce the number of substandard housing units within the City of Elk Grove;
B. Maintain and extend the life of the existing affordable housing stock; and
C. Improve quality of life and independence for low-income Elk Grove residents, veterans, and persons with special needs, including the elderly and the disabled.

Due to the complexity of the work and type of materials needed, we are unable to provide Home Repairs to the following types of dwellings: Mobile Homes, Motor Homes, and Trailers.

Application Requirements:
  1. Applicants must own and occupy the home as their primary residence.
  2. Applicants must be willing to partner with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento by contributing Sweat Equity volunteer labor hours to the repair project.  Those who are not physically able to help with repairs must participate in other volunteer opportunities.
  3. Applicants must have the ability to pay a portion of the total repair costs.
