Build for Unity 2024 Recap
Our 2024 Build for Unity event took place in Oak Park. Despite the cold weather, hundreds of participants from diverse backgrounds joined together to raise funds and provide the volunteer support needed to build decent, safe and affordable housing for low-income families. Heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful interfaith volunteers who gathered in unity and gave of their time and spirit to support Habitat’s mission!
Build for Unity History
In 2016, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento hosted the inaugural Build for Unity event that gathered together individuals from various Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Jewish, Sikh and other faith organizations to help fund and build Habitat homes as a symbolic gesture of interfaith unity. Since that first-ever event in Sacramento, now over 30 cities across the U.S. host Build for Unity events during World Interfaith Harmony Week. This inspirational community event is an opportunity to join with people from throughout the region to create positive interfaith impact and support the mission of Habitat for Humanity to build affordable housing for low-income families in need of a decent and safe place to call home.
