A survey of Habitat for Humanity Greater Sacramento’s first 100 families found that since receiving their Habitat home…

  • 76% of families with school-age children have seen an improvement in study habits and school
  • 59% of families have had at least one family member start or complete higher education of job-training programs
  • 57% of families have more savings
  • 0% of families previously on food stamps remained on food stamps!

2021 Community Projects:

  • Pacific Elementary School – Ongoing community garden support in partnership with Soil Born Farms
  • Ethel Baker Elementary School – Ongoing community garden support in partnership with Soil Born Farms
  • Soil Born Farms – Built and assisted in distribution of over 1000 at-home gardening kits to children in Sacramento City Unified School District doing remote learning
  • Fruit Ridge Community Collaborative – Partnership with SMUD Shine Grant to complete electrical efficiency upgrade on all lighting in the facility
  • YMCA – Child Development Center Downtown Sacramento – Mural project, community clean up
  • Chicks In Crisis – Through an ongoing partnership with the Elk Grove Interfaith Collaborative, we have provided over 50 cases of diapers and personal hygiene products
  • River City Food Bank – Provided volunteers to assist in food distribution
  • Orangevale – Fair Oaks Food Bank – Provided volunteers to assist in food distribution
  • Sacramento Adventure Playground – Ongoing donations of building materials to be used for creative play, Financial sponsorship of 2021 Kids Tough Mudder Fundraiser, Volunteer support of 2021 Kids Tough Mudder Fundraiser
  • Paratransit Food Delivery – Volunteer support of Meals on Wheels-style food delivery during COVID
  • City of Elk Grove – Community park clean up
  • Loaves and Fishes – Ongoing donations of clothing, personal hygiene products, blankets, sleeping bags, and other items for distribution to unhoused neighbors
  • Yisrael Family Farms – Community garden work
  • Southgate Recreation and Parks District – $25,000 donation towards permanent shade structure at Jack Davis Park, Clean up of Jack Davis Park and Fruitridge Park
  • Sacramento County Health Department/State of California – COVID Vaccination Site, Almost 100 community members received COVID vaccinations over 6 weeks of Wednesday clinics
  • City of Folsom/Folsom Community Service Day – Four senior citizen home repairs, Community project benefitting the businesses and shoppers who frequent the Historic Folsom District
