Habitat ReStore Partnering with ArtStreet

Habitat ReStore Partnering with ArtStreet

The highly anticipated ArtStreet project, a new arts initiative in Downtown Sacramento put on by same nonprofit collective behind the 2016 Art Hotel project, M5Arts, will be partnering with a number of community organizations for the special project including the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento ReStore.

The 65,000 square foot ArtStreet project is still currently under construction with the exhibit slated to run February 3-25, 2017.  Like the Art Hotel project, admission will be free.

Following the exhibit, ArtStreet will be donating all usable materials from the large scale art experience, including materials purchased by ArtStreet and materials donated from other sources, to the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento ReStore.  The sales from the ArtStreet materials, as with all materials sold in the Habitat ReStore, will directly support the mission of Habitat in building and repairing homes for low-income families in need.

Last year the the ReStore diverted over 900,000 lbs of usable materials from landfills and generated $880,000 through sales to support Habitat.

ArtStreet is currently heavily in need of volunteers to help with the construction of the project.  If you are interested in helping on the ArtStreet project anytime now through February, please visit http://www.m5arts.com/art-street-volunteer-form/
