Habitat for Humanity partners with U.S. Bank for Big Day of Giving!

This Big Day of Giving, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento is partnering with U.S. Bank to support the great need of affordable housing in the local community. U.S. Bank will match 100% of donations up to $50,000 for Big Day of Giving until midnight on May 4th. Support from Big Day of Giving will go towards critically needed operating funding. These funds will support exciting new projects for low-income families, seniors, veterans, and single mothers.

Habitat hopes to raise $100,000 through community donations which, coupled with the dollar-for-dollar U.S. Bank matching funds, would raise $150,000 in operational funding to support Habitat’s critical efforts.

These funds will not just build homes, but repair existing affordable housing in the community, in order to keep low-income families in their homes, avoiding displacement, as part of Habitat’s Neighborhood Revitalization program.

“At U.S. Bank, we focus on addressing racial and economic inequities and creating lasting change in our communities through our Community Possible areas of Work, Home and Play. We make ‘Home’ possible by supporting efforts that connect individuals and families with sustainable housing opportunities, like Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento,” said Pamela Maxwell, Sacramento Community Affairs Manager for U.S. Bank. “Now more than ever, we know that individuals and families across Sacramento are relying on community partners like Habitat for Humanity to eliminate substandard housing and help families improve their shelter conditions. Big Day of Giving is just one way we can all stand together and support this critical mission.”

As Habitat for Humanity continues to build more, serve more, and create bigger impact for affordable housing, this funding is critical to serving the Greater Sacramento region.

Those interested in making a contribution to Habitat and having their donation go doubled thanks to U.S. Bank can visit bigdayofgiving.org/habitatsac between April 18st and May 4th and support breaking new grounds in the upcoming year.
