On Thursday, October 29th, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento will host a landmark Virtual Gala for a night to celebrate 35 years of building and repairing homes and hope in the Greater Sacramento community. Long-time partner Bank of America will honor the milestone with a $1,000 match for each year celebrated, for a total of up to $35,000 in matching funds.
The annual fall Gala fundraiser hosted by Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento will look a little different than usual this October 29th. The sold-out black tie event typically hosts 400+ supporters for dinner, entertainment, a live auction, and a night to remember which raises over $300,000 to help Habitat build and repair homes for those in need. This year, the event will be hosted online via a virtual live link for supporters to watch, participate, and celebrate safely from home.
Habitat’s first-ever Virtual Gala celebrates a special milestone: 35 years since the organization’s founding in 1985 by community members with a heart for service and hope for a better tomorrow. The formerly all-volunteer organization has since grown to a 25-staff operation now serving over 3,000 individuals annually through home build, repair, and community projects.

12-year partner Bank of America has pledged a total $35,000 to match all donations made to Habitat from now through the night of the event. Over the years of partnership, Bank of America has contributed more than $250,000 and 1,000 volunteer hours to build and repair homes with Habitat in the Greater Sacramento community.
