Rally for CalHome 2025: Support Affordable Homeownership in California

Join us at the California State Capitol!
On Monday, November 17th, 2025, from 10 AM to 11 AM, Habitat for Humanity affiliates, homeowners, and partners from across California will gather on the West Steps* of the State Capitol (1200 L Street, Sacramento) for the annual Rally for CalHome.
*If it’s raining, please plan to meet indoors in Capitol Room 317.
This powerful event calls on Governor Gavin Newsom to dedicate $500 million to the CalHome Program, California’s only state funding source dedicated specifically to affordable homeownership.
Why It Matters:
The CalHome Program, administered by the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD), provides crucial grants for:
- Down payment assistance for first-time homebuyers
- Home repairs and rehabilitation
- Affordable new home construction
- Homebuyer education and self-help housing support
Without CalHome funding, thousands of hardworking California families could lose access to the dream of homeownership.
Make your voice heard. Stand with Habitat for Humanity and advocates statewide as we raise awareness, share stories, and urge our state leaders to invest in homeownership opportunities that build stability, strength, and hope for generations to come.
