Meet Billie & Family

Children: Nathaniel, Kamarina, and Noah

Compassion and determination guide Billie’s path as she cares for both her family and others in her community. As a hospice aide with nearly a decade of experience, she provides comfort and dignity to patients during some of life’s most difficult moments, while raising her three children—Nathaniel, Kamarina, and Noah.

Billie approaches both her work and her role as a mother with deep commitment. She finds purpose in helping others and brings that same sense of care and stability into her home. Her children are at the center of everything she does, and she works tirelessly to create a nurturing environment where they can grow and succeed.

Before partnering with Habitat for Humanity, the family lived in a small two-bedroom duplex that no longer met their needs. With limited space, Nathaniel slept in the garage while his younger siblings shared a bedroom. The home also had ongoing maintenance concerns, including recurring mold and pest issues, which made it difficult to maintain a healthy and comfortable living environment.

Despite these challenges, Billie remained consistent and dependable, maintaining stable employment and never missing a rent payment. Her perseverance reflects her dedication to building a better future for her children.

Through Habitat for Humanity, Billie and her family now have a place to call their own. Their home provides the space, safety, and stability they have worked so hard to achieve. It is a place where her children can rest, learn, and grow in a healthier environment.

For Billie, homeownership represents something deeply personal — a chance to give her children the stability she has always worked to create, and a foundation where they can build their own futures with confidence and security.
