Children: Benjamin (16), Pearl (13), Ryan (11), Charlize (10), and Brandon (9)

Yang is a hard-working single mother with an unwavering dedication to her five children: Benjamin, Pearl, Ryan, Charlize, and Brandon. Each child has their own aspirations—Benjamin dreams of becoming a nurse, while Pearl hopes to explore the arts. Ryan, Charlize, and Brandon are still discovering their unique interests, but all share a common hope for a stable, nurturing home where they can thrive.
Yang’s journey has been marked by immense challenges, including a period of homelessness. During that time, her sister graciously provided temporary shelter for the family, an experience that underscored the critical need for stability. Currently, Yang lives in constant fear of eviction and displacement, a stress that weighs heavily on both her and her children.
Despite these obstacles, Yang remains determined to create a better life. She dreams of a Habitat for Humanity home where her children can enjoy the security of a safe environment. For Benjamin, Pearl, and Ryan, it would mean having space to focus on their studies and grow into their ambitions. For Charlize and Brandon, it would mean a place to play and build childhood memories free from worry.
For Yang, purchasing her Habitat home will provide a new chapter: a place where they can have roots, achieve financial strength and stability and provide a place of sanctuary where her children can dream freely, study diligently, and grow into their full potential. With the support of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento, Yang’s vision for a brighter future is within reach.
