This year, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento welcomes a new Home Sponsor to our Habitat Family – Prometheus Real Estate Group!
Prometheus, a real estate & property management company based in San Mateo, will be partially sponsoring one of the final two homes of Habitat’s ambitious Indian Lane Development. .
The $13,000 sponsorship donation will be presented to Habitat at a special ceremony on Friday, May 8th.
From Prometheus on why they chose to support Habitat for Humanity –
Prometheus strives to provide all of its Neighbors with a place they can call Home, but not everyone is fortunate enough to have a roof over their head. This is why Prometheus is so proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento—to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to not only have housing, but also gain a sense of community and a hope for a better, brighter future.
In addition to the Home Sponsorship that Prometheus will be providing, they are also working to raise $5,000 in additional funds for Habitat as part of their 2015 POrCH Challenge—and will match those donations, dollar for dollar. That means Habitat has the opportunity to receive an additional $10,000 from Prometheus!
What is the 2015 POrCH Challenge?
So what is POrCH? It stands for Promethean OutReach and Community Help and is a year-round volunteer program for both Prometheans (Prometheus employees) and Neighbors (residents at Prometheus properties).
This year, Prometheus is partnering with six different organizations this year: Habitat for Humanity of Great Sacramento, Humane Society Silicon Valley, Lava Mae, Oregon Humane Society, Outdoors for All, and The Trevor Project. Neighbors are rallying together to support the organization in their respective region and the Challenge runs for eight weeks, from May 8th through July 3rd.

“A volunteer program within a company isn’t a new idea,” said Jackie Safier, president at Prometheus. “The company came together to carefully select these organizations, which was really important to us. We are also inviting the more than 25,000 people living in our communities to volunteer with us, side by side, to amplify the impact.”
