Through Habitat’s Affordable Homeownership Program, we offer a hand-up, not a hand-out, empowering hardworking low-income families to become first-time homeowners. To qualify, each partner family must earn between 30-80% of the area median income (AMI) and commit to 500 hours of sweat equity, building not only their future home but also supporting the homes of others. Once their commitment is fulfilled, the family purchases their home with a 30-year, 0%-interest-equivalent mortgage, creating a pathway to stability and generational equity.
