US Bank, longtime partner of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento, will be partnering with Habitat in the coming year through a $37,000 sponsorship to help make the 1st home of Habitat’s “The Avenues” project possible.
“The Avenues” project, which will eventually feature 5 Habitat homes in South Sacramento, will be Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento’s 2nd largest multi-home development in 31 years (the first largest being the 14-unit Indian Lane Development which Habitat completed last September).
The first home of the project, partially sponsored through US Bank and other community sponsors, will benefit the Wube family – a family of 4 headed by single Mom Elizabeth Wube. Elizabeth has two young children and also supports her mother while working 2 jobs. The family has been living in an over-crowded apartment and had longed to be able to one day own their own home, but simply could never dream of being able to afford it.
Habitat is still currently seeking sponsor partners for the remaining 4 homes of the project. Construction is set to begin in summer of 2017 and conclude in 2018.
