New Construction

The Avenues Project

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento’s Avenues Project is a 5-home project at MLK Jr. Blvd and 43rd Avenue. This South Sacramento development will feature 5 two-story single family homes.

The first two of five homes are near completion and will be dedicated to the partner families on March 9th, 2019. As required by the Habitat Home Ownership program, each family has contributed 500 hours helping to build their home and will purchase their new home from Habitat for a 30-year, affordable mortgage.

The final three homes on the Avenues project will begin construction in March of 2019 and are expected to be completed in fall of 2019.

Build for Unity

Build for Unity is a massive interfaith build project through which we partner with local faith groups and individuals from across the Sacramento region to build two homes side-by-side as a display of unity and an opportunity to build relationships and understanding.

We are currently fundraising for Build for Unity and seeking partners to join us. If you or your faith community would like to get involved, please visit our Build for Unity page to learn more.

Home Repairs

Our growing home repair program aims to enable local seniors and Veterans to stay in their already affordable homes and age in place safely. Home repair projects take place in a variety of neighborhoods across the greater Sacramento region.

The Home Repair program was established in 2016 and has grown rapidly due to our community’s need for affordable home repair services. We have been able to repair over 50 homes since the beginning of the program, and look forward to continuing to create an impact in our community through this program.

2016– 5 homes repaired

2017– 5 homes repaired

2018– 33 homes repaired

2019– 14 homes repaired and counting!
